Retro Run

Enter a glowing sci-fi corridor in Retro Run, an arcade obstacle game where every orb matters. Move through narrow lanes, dodge barriers, destroy targets, and manage a limited orb supply while learning how polarity and recall mechanics.

Core Mechanics

Retro Run gives throwable orbs two important jobs: they are both your attack resource and your health supply. Only the orbs currently stored in your rack count toward health, so firing too many at once can leave you in danger. Used orbs can be recalled with Space and caught again to restore the rack. This creates a constant decision between shooting an obstacle, moving around it, or recovering ammunition before the next section arrives.

Ion Polarity System

Some barriers require matching colors before they can be destroyed. The game asks you to eliminate at least 80% of the matching ion orbs, while shots with the wrong polarity bounce away. Switching between orb colors at the correct moment becomes important as these targets begin appearing alongside regular corridor hazards.

Power-Ups During A Run

  • Triple Shot: Collect the glowing symbol to store this power-up for later use.
  • Stored abilities: Power-ups remain available until activated, allowing you to save them for harder sections.
  • Special crystals: Certain pickups can help restore your orb supply.
  • Optional Tutorial: The opening level explains orb health, polarity matching, collection, and activation before later stages begin.

Movement And Actions

Progress depends on reading the corridor ahead and choosing the right response. Some objects are safer to dodge, while breakable targets are worth clearing with an orb. Retro Run becomes more demanding when polarity targets, power-ups, and limited health appear close together, rewarding players who manage their resources carefully.
