Drag Shift: Street Race

Drag Shift: Street Race is a neon drag-racing game where precise launches and gear changes decide each showdown. Build your racing career and chase faster finish times!

Build Your Street Racing Career

Drag Shift: Street Race takes place in a neon-lit city divided into three racing districts: Street, Sport, and Elite. Progress through 60 events against 18 rival crew drivers, earning cash from victories to improve your collection of cars. Each race focuses on acceleration over a short distance, with your elapsed time (ET) determined by how effectively you launch, shift gears, and use nitrous.

Perfect Your Racing Technique

Winning a drag race starts before the cars move. Hold the accelerator to position the tachometer needle inside the green launch zone, then release at the starting signal. During acceleration, watch for the green shift indicator and change gears at the correct moment to gain a torque bonus. NOS becomes available from second gear, with higher gears offering greater benefits when activating the boost.

Garage Upgrades

The garage provides access to 25 cars and five upgrade categories that influence racing performance:

  • Nitrous: Improve your boost system.
  • Engine: Increase engine performance.
  • Gearbox: Enhance your transmission setup.
  • Tyres: Develop traction for better launches.
  • Weight: Reduce vehicle weight to improve acceleration.

Vehicle statistics include power, torque, grip, weight, elapsed time, and trap speed, helping players evaluate their setup before entering another race.

Racing Controls

  • Hold GAS / Up / W: Build revs before launching.
  • SHIFT UP / Space: Change gears when the indicator turns green.
  • NOS / N: Activate nitrous from second gear onward.
  • Mobile: Use the on-screen accelerator, shift, and NOS buttons.

Career Progression

Drag Shift: Street Race combines short head-to-head races with long-term vehicle development. Players begin with accessible Street events before advancing toward tougher Sport and Elite competitions. Winning races provides funds for upgrades, while the ghost racing feature offers another challenge by letting players compete against their previous performance. Improving launch timing and shift accuracy can lower your ET even before purchasing additional upgrades.
